Those people driving on Loop 308 in Briggs this past weekend probably noticed that a new business has just opened up – Bubba’s Barn. It is located in the former Firehouse Feeds building.
Jeanie Smith reports that she, her nephew Ricky Smith and her husband Bubba (Clinton) Smith have moved the business to Briggs that they operated for the past 15 years in Lampasas. It was called Lampasas Warehouse there.
There is lots of merchandise of a lot of different kinds. Each week they are able to obtain items from storage rentals, estate sales and more.
Their hours of operation are: Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Sing-a-long
The next monthly get-together for singing is this coming Sunday, May 4. It’s a time when friends and neighbors join in from 4 to 5 p.m. and enjoy fellowship and singing.
Peace Christian Church at Mahomet is located at 10451 FM 243, Bertram. Everyone is welcome.
Oakalla Old Home Day Oakalla Librarian Tricia Pratt announces that plans are being made to celebrate Oakalla’s Old Home Day on May 17. She is inviting all vendors who wish to participate in this celebration to contact the library at oakallalibrary@ yahoo.com Story Time and Crafts Also at the Oakalla Library, on Tuesdays, Story Time and Crafts for the younger group of children will meet at 4:30 p.m.
Teen Art Classes
Teen Art Classes will be held at 6:30 p.m.
The library is located at 28961 RM 963 in Oakalla.
Yoga Classes
Anyone wishing to participate in a Yoga Class can do so at the Oakalla Community Center. The time is 8 a.m. on Fridays. The classes are sponsored by the Oakalla Library. To join, bring a mat, a water bottle and a small donation for the instructor.
