The Bulldog track team earned another team championship last week, this time taking the Area crown after some impressive performances. Individually the Dawgs earned 13 spots at this week’s regional meet and qualified 10 athletes.

Dwindling reservoirs cause concern

As the region continues to deal with the effects of a severe drought, the Lower Colorado River Authority has determined no water from the Highland Lakes will be available for most LCRA agricultural customers in Colorado, Wharton and Matagorda counties in 2024.

LCRA welcomes public input on plan

As the Lower Colorado River Authority meets this month, discussion and action will include proposed amendments to the Drought Contingency Plan (DCP). Officials want the pub lic to understand not only the critical nature of current conditions but their own role in shaping the policy.

Bertram hosts chamber event to recognize top citizens

It was a night to remember as Bertramites and beyond gathered for the 3rd Annual Bertram Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet this past Thursday evening. This event was once again held at the lovely Twisted Ranch venue just outside of Bertram where guests gathered for a delicious meal provided by Hill Country Smokehouse.
