Three more virus fatalities reported in Burnet County

Three more COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in Burnet County in the past two weeks, bringing to 15 the total number of county residents believed to have succumbed to the illness.

More information was not available Tuesday on the ages of those individuals or their cities of residence.

According to data from the Department of State Health Frank Sh Services (DSHS) released Monday, Oct. 26, there have been 925 total novel coronavirus B cases in Burnet County with 773 individuals having recovered and 137 active cases Ra at this time.

A total of 11,996 tests have been administered, an increase of 1,411 since Oct. 15. There have been 83 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 identified in the past two weeks, including 34 reported on Sunday, Oct. 25 — the third-biggest one-day amount since the pandemic began.

As of July 27, 2020, DSHS is reporting COVID-19 fatality data based on death certificates. A fatality is counted as a COVID-19 fatality when the medical certifier attests on the death certificate that COVID-19 is a cause of death.

County case numbers may occasionally go down if the case investigation determines the person is a resident of another county or state, but fatalities are attributed to county of residence.
