Burnet CISD selects superintendent lone finalist

Recently, the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees selected Aaron Peña to serve as the new district superintendent. “We are delighted to welcome him to the family,” BCISD Board President Earl Foster said in a statement.

City of Burnet buys EDC land

Burnet City Council recently approved the purchase of one lot measured at a little over 6 acres for outdoor recreation and possibly other open space development. The council voted unanimously to purchase the lot at $300,000 from the Burnet Economic Development Corporation.

GOP primary voters to decide 13 propositions on the ballot

The Republican Party of Texas included a list of propositions on the 2024 Republican primary ballot. The 13 ballot propositions include questions on eliminating property taxes, border security, benefits to illegal aliens, amnesty, protecting the Texas National Guard, a Texas Bullion Depository, vaccine consent, closed primaries, election integrity, school choice and ownership of Texas land by hostile foreign entities.

Early voting underway this week

Early voting for the primaries started yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 20, and goes through Friday, March 1. If voters make their way to Bertram, one of four sites, the location in that community has changed.
