C.E. Wisener Jr., longtime resident of the Cassie Community at Lake Buchanan, died on December 19, 2020 in Tyler, Texas.

C.E. was born in Nacogdoches on February 23, 1931, to C.E. (Jack) Wisener and Hallie Bristow Wisener Following the untimely death of his mother shortly after his birth, he was raised in West Texas by his maternal grandparents, Reverend and Mrs. H.C. Bristow.

It was while his granddad was pastoring the Baptist church in Allred near Denver City that C.E. met the love of his life, Naomi Gayle Wisener. They were married on October 15, 1949 and recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.

The Wiseners moved to Lake Buchanan in 1974 where they lived until relocating to Tyler in 2010. Along with their son Pete and his wife Sherri, C.E. and Naomi owned Burnet Lumber Company for many years. They were active in community affairs including Chapel of The Hills Baptist Church where C.E. served as a deacon. He was a former fire chief with the Cassie Fire Department and EMS.

He was preceded in death by his son, Pete Wisener, his parents, grandparents, brothers, Leon Wisener, Royce Wisener and Robert Finch and sister Jeanie Armstrong. He also considered his wife’s parents, Walter and Emma Gayle, and his stepmother, Mattie (Bill) Wisener as parents.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Wisener of Tyler, two sisters, Hallie Sue Randall of Plains, Texas and Bettye McDougal of New York, his loving daughters and their husbands, Susie and Dan Scull of Austin, Jonna and Cliff Robison of Tyler and Michelle and Drue Robinson of Athens, Texas, daughter-in-law, Sherri Wisener of Burnet, along with grandchildren, Lara Stryker (Hunter Hathaway), Lisa Owen (Jeff), Andi Scull, Chris Scull (Marissa) Hallie Behrens (Ross), Brittany Carpenter, Ashley St. Clair (Wesley), Rowdy Robinson (Heather), Jacob Robinson (Nicole Rumsey), and Joseph Robinson (Kaleigh).

C.E. lived to see the birth of 18 great grandchildren, Eden McCreary (Sam Weisman), Sierra Andersen, Laney Owen, Riley Owen, Ford Owen, Avorie Cheatham, Coralee Cheatham, Ryan Behrens, Allison Behrens, Zachory Carpenter, Jaedyn Carpenter, Noah Carpenter, Bennett St. Clair, Tate Robinson, Wyatt Robinson, Oren Robinson, Landon Robinson, Laikyn Robinson. One more great grandson, Carter Eli (”Little C.E.”) Robinson, is expected in May 2021.

Visitation will be held at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet on Monday, December 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Private family services will be held on December 29 at Chapel of The Hills Baptist Church followed by graveside services at Pebble Mound Cemetery at 2 p.m. The graveside services are open to the public.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Building and Grounds Fund, Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 7300 S. Broadway Avenue, Tyler, TX 75703 or The American Cancer Society.
