On Saturday, November 28, 2020, Kathryn Williams Yarborough, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 101 at the Oaks in Burnet, Texas. She is survived by her son, William (Bill) Lee Yarborough and his wife Nancy Walkup; her granddaughter Katie and her husband Ed Sandlin; her great-granddaughter Penny Sandlin; and her grandson Micah Yarborough and his wife, Shelby Orr.

Kathryn will be laid to rest in the family plot in the Burnet City Cemetery, next to her husband, Carl Yarborough and daughter Kay, when the family can safely gather.

Known as MamaKat to all who knew and loved her, Kathryn was fond of watermelon, peaches, and Snickers bars. She first lived in Burnet after World War II, where her husband, who grew up in Burnet, had a dry goods store called Carl’s. In the 1960s, the family moved to Fort Worth where her husband started a new business. They maintained close ties to Burnet and Lake Buchanan throughout the years.

Donations in Kathryn’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
