The Burnet County Democratic Club of Texas continues to meet the challenge of safely campaigning during a pandemic to get out the vote.

The monthly meeting in July will feature “Campaigning in the Era of Covid-19: Using Digital Media to Convey our Message” with special guest Jason Taper, digital and relational organizer for Julie Oliver for Congress, District 25.

BCDCTX will meet virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, July 21, at 11:30 a.m.

Taper would rather be knocking on doors or registering Longhorns to vote, he said, but he’s passionate about safely using technology to turn personal relationships into transformational change this November. He will demonstrate how to use the “Reach” mobile application to easily turn everyday conversations with friends and family into voter canvassing opportunities.

BCDCTX President BJ Henry encourages everyone, including nonmembers, to attend and get involved with the club’s efforts to safely contact and register voters for the 2020 election.

“We will discuss a number of ways to get involved at whatever level of contact you feel comfortable with,” Henry said.

Newsletter subscribers will be provided a link to register for the meeting, so be sure to watch your inbox for details. Nonmembers can request an invitation by emailing democratsclubburnetcounty@ gmail.com.

Follow BCDCTX on Twitter and Instagram and visit bcdctx. org for voter information. BCDCTX meets on the third Tuesday of every month via Zoom until it is safe to be physically together again. The meetings are open to anyone who supports Democratic ideals.
