Burnet, Llano and Blanco counties will be honoring local law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, game wardens and others this week and next with proclamations declaring July to be First Responder Month.

The Burnet Bulletin and The Highlander will also be recognizing these men and women who put their lives on the line for us each day with our annual Hometown Heroes special section, which will come out later this month.

“This special section is dedicated to thanking and showing our support to the first responders in our community, letting our readers know who these heroes are putting their lives on the line for us each day and how important they are,” said Lew K. Cohn, managing editor for Highland Lakes Newspapers, which publishes the Burnet Bulletin and The Highlander.

“If you’d like to show your appreciation to these brave men and women who make Burnet, Llano and Blanco counties a safer place to live and work and also inform the public about the services or products offered by your business, please call our office today. Stand up with us as a proud supporter of our law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, game wardens and others who put on the uniform to serve us, day after day.”
