The Burnet Police Department will host its first-ever Thanksgiving dinner at the new police station, 2000 S. Water St., Burnet, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Residents are invited to come by and pick up a free Thanksgiving meal to go. It’s simple: pull up and tell them how many dinners you would like and they will bring them out to you.

If you can’t make it or if you have elderly relatives or friends within city limits who need a hot Thanksgiving meal, officers will deliver meals to them at no charge.

“This is our way of giving back to the community,” said interim Burnet Police Chief Sid Fuller.
