Filing continues for cities, school

The filing period for positions on the Burnet City Council, Bertram City Council and Burnet Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees began Wednesday, Jan. 13, and will continue until 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12.

Municipal and school board elections will be held Saturday, May 1.

City of Burnet

Spots up for election in the City of Burnet include mayor and three councilmember positions currently held by Tres Clinton, Paul Farmer and Cindia Talamantez. These are all two-year terms.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, incumbent Mayor Crista Goble Bromley had filed for re-election, as had Talamantez. Also applying for council positions were Joyce Laudenschlager and Ricky Langley, per cityofburnet. com, the city’s website.

City of Bertram

Spots up for election in the City of Bertram include three councilmember positions currently held by Mike Dickinson, Pat Turner and John Baladez. These are all two-year terms.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, four individuals Baladez, Lane Shipp, Jean Worrell and Brian Lynch had filed to run for Bertram City Council, according to Bertram City Secretary Georgina Hernandez.

Burnet CISD

Spots up for election on the Burnet CISD Board of Trustees are Place 2, currently held by vice president Angela Moore; Place 4, currently held by Ross Behrens; and Place 6, currently held by Robby Robertson. These are all threeyear terms.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, all three incumbents — Moore, Behrens and Robertson — had filed for re-election.
