Incumbent Burnet CISD trustee Mark Kincaid easily won re-election to his Place 7 seat Tuesday night in complete but unofficial returns.

Meanwhile, it appears a very tight race for Bertram City Council will end in the top three candidates — Kim Allen Klose, Stephanie Fitzsimmons and Allen Rodgers being seated on the council and Jean Worrell losing out on a seat by just four votes.

Kincaid received 6,842 votes in Burnet County (74.16 percent) and 634 votes (69 percent) in Llano County, while challenger Tricia Carr had 2,384 votes (25.84 percent) and 285 votes (31 percent), respectively. Kincaid will now serve as second term on the BCISD board and be sworn in later this month.

Three spots were up for grabs on the Bertram City Council and with four candidates, it was expected to be a very close race that could come down to a razor-thin margin between winning and losing.

Klose, an incumbent, received 242 votes, while Fitzsimmons came in second with 227 votes. Then in the battle for the last spot, Rodgers had 204 votes to 200 even for Worrell.

Results must still be canvassed by the council.
