The Kingsland Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of the 2020 Kingsland AquaBoom Spirit of Kingsland Awards.

The “community wide celebration of American independence and Kingsland pride” encourages businesses to decorate their businesses for the Fourth of July holiday. Judging began July 2 and continued through July 4.

First place went to the Texas Farm Bureau, 2249 West Ranch Road 1431. Second place was awarded to the Kingsland House of Arts and Crafts Inc., 112 W. Chamberlain St. Third place went to the Lazy Heron Coffee House, 240 Ranch Road 2900.

Other businesses which took part in the competition this year and decorated their locations included Highland Safety Center, Texas Building Center, Kingsland Florist, Buddies, Prosperity Bank, Landmasters Real Estate, Rene’ & Company Salon and Day Spa, Tour Hill Country, Timmons Insurance Agency, Lentz-Gann Insurance Agency, Boat Town Burger Bar, Independent Title, Antlers Inn, Thomas’s Mustang Lube, Sonny Rayz’ Scents & Things, KT Waterfront Construction and Wakepoint LBJ.

The Spirit of Kingsland Awards took on even more significance this year as many AquaBoom activities had to be postponed until Labor Day weekend due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
