Richard Alan Hausman. 62. of Burnet, passed away on May 16. 2026.

Richard was bom on September 20. 1963. in Houston. He spent his younger years in Garland before moving with liis family to Mineral Wells, where he graduated from high school in 1982. Shortly after graduation. Richard proudly joined the United States Air Force, serving from 1982 to 1986.

After his military service, Richard traveled extensively for work with Jaui-King International. living in Detroit, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong.

Richard met the love of his life. Rachael, in 2005. and the two were married on December 31. 2007. From the moment he saw her. it was love at first sight. Together, they built a beautiful life, a loving family, and several successful businesses. They were true partners in every sense of the word.

During his years in Llano and Burnet, Richard became a pillar of the community. He generously supported local schools, community events, and organizations, and volunteered countless hours through the Chamber of Commerce, where he proudly served as a board member. He was also a Young Life committee member and played an important role in helping bring Young Life to Burnet High School. He coached Bumet Youth Baseball, served as an Adopt-A-School sponsor, and helped organize the Chicken Express All-Star Basketball Games, which provided scholarships for local high school seniors. Richard also shared his love of music by playing guitar and singing during Christmas on the Square and the Bluebonnet Festival.

Richard deeply loved his community and cared greatly for all of his employees at Chicken Express. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. If he had it. you had it too. He loved his family, his friends, the Class of ‘82. and his military brothers with his whole heart.

Richard is survived by his mother. Fran Hausman: his wife. Rachael Hausman; his children. Emma Sorensen and husband Brett Sorensen and their children, Georgia and Graham Sorensen: Blake Estes and girlfriend Penelope Paz: Brynn Janecek and husband Braden Janecek and their daughter. Baylor Janecek: Alan Hausman; and Aidan Hausman.

He w'as preceded in death by his father, Fred Hausman.

A memorial service will be held ou Friday. May 22, 2026. at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Bumet.
