Arnold Eddie Burton, 86 of Burnet, Texas passed away on February 24, 2025. Arnold was born on February 21, 1939, in Travis County to the late Roscoe and Ruby (Hall) Burton.
Arnold’s love of the land began at an early age learning from his parents. Plowing, combining, ranching and hunting was his life. Having 5 sisters, he would help his dad as much as possible! Tractors, plows, hay equipment, cows, and sheep continued to be his life, that later became the family business.
His hay business not only included Burnet County, but also surrounding counties. During this time, Arnold made friends where he worked, for example the Mezger family became part of his family.
The love of hunting later became a family tradition which he enjoyed with his kids and grandkids. His hunting in Colorado led to him and his family to meet the Virden family. And overtime, they became not only great friends and more like family.
Arnold and Diane were a part of the Church of Christ here in Burnet and Lake Victor, where they raised their children.
Arnold loved spending time with his family, especially hunting and family vacations to Colorado. His love for his grandkids, and great granddaughter meant the world to him, and he loved watching them grow up.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane Burton. He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Jerry) Hopkins and his son, Clay (Karrisa) Burton. Arnold is also survived by his sisters Joyce (Keith) Althaus and Othella Webb and his brother-in-law, Bill Garrett. Arnold is also survived by four grandchildren, Brandon (Shelby) Burton, Blake Herrera, Trent Burton and Kiley Burton along with one Great Granddaughter, Emma Burton.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Ruby Burton and his sisters, Wilma (Melvin) Webb, Renda (Julian) Paschall, Buelah Garrett and his brother-in-law, Milton Webb.
A visitation was held on Friday February 28, 2025, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Clements- Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral service for Arnold was held on Saturday March 1, 2025, at 2:00pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet with the burial to take place at Dobeyville Cemetery immediately after the service.
