Claudia Jane Roberson, 68, died on January 15, 2021 at Oaks Nursing Center in Burnet, Texas.

She was born in Odessa, Texas on August 10, 1952 to Darlyene McCuiston Roberson and William K. Roberson. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1970 and went to Houston Baptist to study nursing. Claudia then returned to Odessa to get her RN from Odessa College. She worked for Dr. Turner and Dr. Albert Finch and in later years, she worked for St. John’s Episcopal School in the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. Claudia loved working with the children.

She also loved traveling with her big sister, Judy. They went many places together, but her favorite was always to Pagosa Springs, Colorado to see her niece, Angie, and her children.

Claudia had a special love for dolls that was passed down from her mother. They both painted china dolls, and her mother made beautiful clothes for them. She had a large collection and enjoyed telling her nieces and great nieces about them.

After a debilitating fall, she entered a nursing home in Odessa and later transferred to the Oaks Nursing Home in Burnet, Texas in 2014. When she went into the nursing home, she wanted to take all her dolls, but there was only room for 4 or 5. She would dress them in red velvet for Christmas and cute little sundresses in the summer. The other residents would come to her room to visit and see the dolls.

Claudia is preceded in death by her parents, Darlyene and William Roberson, and all her aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Heslep of Roscoe, Illinois; her brother, Bill Roberson and wife Liz of Odessa; her niece, Angie Ranson and husband John of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; her niece, Katherine Nelson and husband Shawn of Burnet, Texas; and her nephew, Chris Roberson and wife Summer of Round Rock, Texas. She is also survived by four great nieces, four great nephews, two great-great nephews, and several special cousins.

Claudia was a member of First Baptist Church, Odessa, but had been unable to attend for many years due to her health. She stayed strong in her faith and loved listening to all the old hymns.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Oaks for Claudia’s wonderful care, especially during these last ten months when we were unable to see and visit her.

Graveside services were held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Byron McWilliams, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. The family requests the attending guests to please wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Odessa Music Ministry (709 N. Lee Ave, Odessa, TX 79761) or The Ellen Noel Art Museum (4909 E. University, Odessa, TX 79762).

Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. To send condolences to the family, please sign her guestbook at sunsetodessa. com.
