Our beloved Jimmy E. (Shorty) Miller, 81, slipped the bonds of his earthly vessel to walk freely with our Lord on July 3, 2020. He was born August 14, 1938 in Leander Texas, the son of Samuel Miller and Geraldine (Jerry) Craven Miller. Jimmy graduated from Burnet High School Class of 1956 and then attended UT Austin. Jimmy joined and served in the U.S. National Guard.

Having married the love of his life Linda Booker Churchwell, they celebrated 55 years of marriage in August 2019. They lived in Austin, Temple and Cedar Park while Shorty worked in sales for Cudahy Bar S Meat Co and then in the auto glass business for Glass Specialty/ Magic Auto Glass, Safelite Auto Glass and retired from Hill Country Auto Glass of Burnet. After living in Cedar Park for 40+ years, he and Linda retired to Lake Buchanan. Observing and enjoying the wildlife and lake setting was an immense joy.

Raising children allowed Shorty to become a kid again while coaching baseball both in Austin and Leander, working with youth rodeos and livestock shows. Serving on the Williamson County Livestock Show Board of Directors working with 4-H and FFA youth was both a pleasure and a passion. Fun times also included camping, hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, watching sports on tv and of course being with grand and great grand kids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Lyndon B. Churchwell, sister-in-law Jayne Miller and daughter-in-law Lourdes Rosenberg.

Shorty is survived by his wife Linda Miller; his brother Bobby Miller of Joppa; his children, son Kevin Churchwell and his wife Barbara of Joppa, and daughter Kathie Miller of Austin; five grandchildren, Sarena Ringstaff and her husband Josh of Joppa, Chance Webb and his wife Reggie of Burnet, Larry Holybee and his wife Sarah of Hutto, Andres Rosenberg of Austin and Sofia Rosenberg of Austin; nine great grandchildren, Levi, Carson, Hunter, Addie Jane and Cheyenne Ringstaff, Emily and Brylee Holybee and Cooper and Case Churchwell; nieces and nephews, Jo Lynn Miller Knighton, Matt Miller, Amber Jackson and Bryan Hall and their children, other relatives and many friends.

The family will host a visitation on July 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Due to coronavirus restrictions and guidelines, facemasks will be provided and social distancing encouraged.

Following cremation, a private family graveside service and burial will be held at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander. A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for a later date for anyone wishing to attend and honor Shorty.
