Joy Ulrich, 85 died peacefully on October 27, 2020 after a battle with cancer. Joy was born in Tow, Texas, on December 13, 1934. Her family moved to Burnet in 1943. She graduated from Burnet High School and then attended Durhams Business School in Austin. Joy was a medical transcriptionist at Shepherd Hospital in Burnet for 25 years.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband Dan Ulrich, her parents Arthur and Letha McGinty, and brothers Dean McGinty and Gary McGinty.

She is survived by her son Richard Ulrich and wife Julia; daughter Sheila Lamb and husband Roger; grandchildren Michael Stretz, Kelsey Stretz, John Lamb, and Evan Lamb; great-grandchildren Zoe Stretz, Eloise Stretz, Morgan Lamb, and Sydney Lamb; brothers Bill McGinty and wife Pat, Dorman McGinty and wife Darlene, Ronnie McGinty and wife Joyce, and David McGinty and wife Sarah; and numerous niece and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wildflower Meadows in Burnet, Ascension Seton Hospice, and the private caregivers who devoted their time, care, and support to provide comfort to both Joy and our family.

Her family gathered for a graveside service at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m., care of Clements Wilcox Funeral Home.
