Mary Escamilla, 80, a longtime resident of Bertram, passed away peacefully on Friday October 16, 2020. She was born on August 10, 1940 in Weslaco, TX to Teodoro and Maria Reyes.
Mary was known to many in the area as “Grandma”; her passion was playing Loteri’a with her friends and drinking coffee. She has a deep love for her birds and her dog, Misty.
Her husband Milton Escamilla, her parents, two brothers and daughter Sanjuanita Hernandez Gonzalez precede her in death.
She is survived by her brothers Ted Reyes and John Reyes, sister Concha Knight, children George and Meg Hernandez, Diane Weaver, Susie Solis, Ricky and Kathleen Escamilla, Milton Escamilla, Lucy and Gary Parker, Elena and Al Keeney, Robert and Irene Escamilla, Derick and Samantha Escamilla, 36 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday October 21, 2020 at 6 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 22 at 10:00 am at Our Mother of Sorrows with Father Jose Comparon officiating. Interment to follow at Las Tres Marias Cemetery in Liberty Hill.
Pallbearers are Chris Hernandez, Kendrick Baladez, Gary Parker, Gregg Parker, Griffin Parker, Brian Escamilla, Chris Escamilla, Michael Anderson and Randy Rodriguez.
