Crow earns hat trick versus Jarrell

Burnet’s soccer teams have been adding up district wins with their recent play. The Lady Dawgs played Jarrell on Tuesday night and earned a huge 10-1 victory.

The girls’ first goal of the evening was netted by Caty Crow off a Reagan Shipley assist.

Burnet’s next two points were scored by Shipley herself; one of those assisted by Kaycie Banton.

Phebe Musasa added Burnet’s fourth goal off a Carolina Valencia assist. Rye assisted Burnet’s fifth goal which was kicked in by Valencia.

Haylie Bartlett assisted Crow for the final goal of the first half; Crow’s second of the contest.

Burnet picked up in the second half right where they left off. Banton used a Musasa assist to score for Burnet and just minutes later Rye netted her first goal of the season.

Soon Valencia kicked one in moving the score to 9-1.

Crow recorded a hat trick with her third goal, which was also the last of the night, off a Julie Suazo assist.

The win brought the girls’ record to 4-1 in district, 9-6 overall.

Their Friday game against Lampasas has been postponed.

The boys recently lost a heartbreaker in the last minutes of their game versus Gatesville. Burnet’s boys fell short, 2-1. Andres Perez Huerta and Diego Escamilla played well for Burnet.

The Bulldogs earned victory in their following contest defeating Lake Belton, 2-0. Luis Chavez and Jose Flores scored goals for Burnet.

The JV boys have only played in two games this year. They are currently 2-0 after beating Lampasas, 2-1, and Lake Belton, 2-1.

All recent games have been postponed. The program hopes to return to district play soon.
