Burnet’s powerlifting team participated in their second meet of the season on Thursday with their annually hosted event. It turned out to be a very successful outing for the Dawgs and Lady Dawgs who each collected several new medals in the process. On the girls side Burnet had three first place finishers and three second place finishers. Their totals had them finishing in first place as a team.

On the boys side Burnet had one golden finish, two in second place, and one bronze finish. They placed fifth overall as a team.

“We had multiple athletes place in the top five of their

weight class earning team points and medals,” said Burnet’s head powerlifting coach Tyler McIntosh. “Coach Burns and I are super proud of how our athletes conducted themselves, and how they competed in their second meet of the year. We look forward to what the rest of the season has to offer.”
