Burnet Consolidated Independent School District trustees adopted a nearly $30.19 million general fund budget at Monday's regular school board meeting.

The new general fund budget calls for $32.39 million in revenue, including $27.22 million at the local level through property taxes, which will create a general fund surplus of $2.2 million. The debt service fund is expected to have revenue of nearly $4.86 million and expenditures of more than $4.74 million, leaving a surplus of $113,200.

The food service fund will have a deficit of $52,307 after revenues are projected to be nearly $1.94 million with expenditures of more than $1.99 million, but budgeting for that fund will be reorganized to reduce the deficit at a later date.
