Communities consistently see growth among their residents and, in turn, their school districts, and the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District area is no exception.

During the Monday, Sept. 16 Burnet CISD board meeting, trustees heard a demographics report from Brent Alexander with School District Strategies (SDS) which outlined the growth seen over the years throughout the campuses in the district, and predicted growth for the next ten years.

As part of the proposed 2019 bond, a few planned projects were imagined to anticipate this growth and meet it head on, such as classroom additions to the Bertram Elementary campus, increasing its capacity to 700 students, and the expansion of the drive-through and parking lot at Shady Grove Elementary, allowing for more vehicles and easier flow.
