The 53rd Burnet County Rodeo is slated for this weekend, May 10-11. This is the third year for the rodeo to be held in May. Previous years the Burnet County Rodeo was held in June, but weather conditions seem to be more favorable in May; it tends to be cooler which is better for the livestock and the athletes.

Events will kick-off each night at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $15 at the gate, $5 ages 6-9, 5 and under are free. You can expect to see riders participate in bareback bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, and team roping.

In addition to the regular rodeo events kids will have an opportunity to get involved with a calf scramble, shoe scramble, and mutton bustin event which is always a crowd favorite.
