TWDB considers proposed flood planning regions

Special to the Bulletin

The Texas Water Development Board will consider publishing the boundaries for 11 proposed flood planning regions in the Texas Register at their 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, meeting.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in Room 170 of the Stephen F. Austin Building, 1700 Congress Ave., Austin.

Senate Bill 8, passed by the 86th Texas Legislature, established a new regional and state flood planning process which creates 11 flood planning regions. All of Llano County and the western and southern half of Burnet County are included in the Colorado-Lavaca region, while the northern and eastern half of Burnet County — which includes Burnet and Bertram — will be in the Brazos-San Bernard region.
