Glynn Maxine was born to Mack Leland Boultinghouse and Ethel West Hall Boultinghouse on April 30, 1920 in Marble Falls, Texas. She graduated from Marble Falls High School.

She went to Austin to work after graduation. In 1942, she took and passed a Civil Service exam. She was sent to mechanics’ school in San Antonio. After training, she was assigned to Kelly Field in San Antonio where she received further training. She was then sent to be a member of the Plexi glass unit on Kelly Air Base.

In Nov. 1944, she was selected to be transferred to Station X. Due to World War II, no one knew where Station X was until they arrived at the location. She was assigned to Hickam Field, which is on the island of Oahu, one of the Hawaiian Islands. Hickam Field was next to Pearl Harbor. She returned to the mainland states on Dec. 25, 1945.
