Big week of sports in Burnet

Wayne Craig/Clear Memories
Burnet varsity Lady Dawg soccer player Phebe Musasa elevates to an incredible height during a downfield sprint. If that weren't enough, Burnet's leaping Lady Dawg made a solid connection with the ball, sending it on the righ tpath from a difficult angle. The LIttle River Academy goalie made the stop but Musasa certainly wowed her spectators, and the Lady Dawgs went on to win the match 3-1.

Carroll ends impressive career at state

BY WAYNE CRAIG/BURNET BULLETIN

Burnet senior Taylor Carroll has been an impressive golfer for the Lady Bulldog team since the beginning of her career at BHS. On Monday and Tuesday she wrapped-up her time in the green and white at the UIL State tournament at Austin’s Onion Creek.

“Taylor was paired with the best medalists in the state and showed she belonged there,” said head golf coach Roy Kiser.

“Even though she struggled both days to make putts she continued to battle throughout the rounds,” added Kiser.

Carroll shot an 84 on Monday and finished the state rounds on Tuesday with an 87.

“She has always represented our team and school with outstanding character and competition,” said Kiser.

While Carroll’s days as a Bulldog are nearly done she will not be putting away her clubs. She recently signed on to play at the next level at Harding University.
