An enormous music festival that started out as a small gathering on a family ranch in Utopia has made its way to the Highland Lakes again this year, and with it, unique singers and songwriters bring their craft for the enjoyment of music lovers of all kinds.

UTOPiAfest will take place Thursday, Nov. 14 through Saturday, Nov. 16 at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, and will consist of non-stop music and fun activities for guests of all ages.

Founder Travis Sutherland started the festival in his hometown on his family's ranch in 2009 to bring his family and friends together and showcase talented musicians he came to know during his time in San Marcos in the early 2000's.

'Tri' something fun this weekend - three favorites return to Burnet

Country/Tejano artist Rick Trevino will kick off the 2019 Burnet Octoberfest concert series Friday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Texas country artist Stoney LaRue will headline Saturday's live music at 8:30. The Octoberfest concerts will take place at the Burnet carnival grounds at East League and Vandeveer Streets near the Burnet Community Center.

Special to the Bulletin

Burnet residents and visitors will be able to enjoy triple the fun and festivities this weekend as three annual events return to town.

Octoberfest, the Burnet Art Festival, and Fort Croghan Day will give everyone something to enjoy, and the public is invited to experience every bit of what each event has to offer.

The third annual Octoberfest is bringing all the craft beer, activities, food, and live music a town could want, and it will all be located in downtown Burnet.

“The excitement is growing as we approach our third Octoberfest,” said Burnet Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Winkler. “The event is growing, too, and this year we will have concerts both nights.”
