Longoria's giving spirit honored by city

The City of Burnet is mourning the loss of Park Supervisor Aurelio “Randy” Longoria Jr., who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 4.

A well-known figure in the community, Longoria is remembered by family, friends, and colleagues for the dedication he showed towards the City of Burnet and the individual members of his community.

“Randy was amazing,” said City Manager David Vaughn. “He always did anything and everything he could to help the community and people individually; he was never going to say no.”

Longoria was employed by the City of Burnet since July 2004. During the past 14 years, his hard work made an impact on the city's public works projects and community and family events to which he dedicated his time and effort, including the Burnet Concert Series.
