FBC Burnet to host active shooter seminar

Savanna Gregg

Burnet Bulletin

The First Baptist Church of Burnet's Safety Committee and Williamson County Sheriff's deputy Brandon Schaefer will present an active shooter seminar at First Baptist Church of Burnet this Saturday, March 3.

History will never forget tragic events like the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, The Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, The Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church, the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, and the most recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

These and many other events before and in between all had something in common: The people inside those buildings did not once think that someone would decide to bring a weapon onto the premises and commit a horrendous act. They saw these things happen on the news and thought, “That won't ever happen here.”
