The Burnet CISD Board of Trustees recently nominated Burnet Middle School English teacher and Interact sponsor Sara Te to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Media Honor Roll for the part she has played in providing news about public schools in a fair and accurate manner.

Tea has made an impact on students across the district as well as the nation with her participation in the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation and introducing BCISD to the “Start With Hello” program and “Say Something Week,” programs dedicated to including students of all walks of life and helping them feel welcome and safe in what can be an overwhelming environment for many.

In June 2017, Te and a few of her BMS Interact students were honored at the Sandy Hook Promise Gala in Washington, D.C., for introducing their school to the “Start With Hello” program.
