William “Bill” Edward Smith

William “Bill” Edward Smith, 88, of Kingsland, finished a “good run” on November 28, 2018. He was born on November 10, 1930, to Ottis and Elizabeth (Heichelbech) Smith in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Bill was raised in Oklahoma but moved to Eunice, New Mexico during his teens when his family was transferred with his dad’s job. There, he joined the military and served our country in the Unites States Air Force for four years. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Erma Bell, in Eunice, New Mexico. Bill started his career with Phillips Petroleum. He was brilliant and excelled in his work. The company sent him to college where he earned his bachelor’s degree while continuing to work for them. Bill later moved to Odessa where he worked for Permian Basin Planning as the Assistant Regional Director.

William "Bill" G. Lough Jr., age 73, passed away suddenly on March 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Devoted husband of 50 years to Judith “Judy,” he was beloved father to Theresa (Brandon) Doolittle and William “Billy” (Lanette) Lough; cherished brother to Mary “Molly” (Laddie James), Michele Kovacs, Terrence “Terry” (Debbie) Lough, and Daniel “Dan” (Julie) Lough. Bill was a loving uncle to Michele Discenzo, James Duchon, Nicole Kovacs, Dan, Nick, Tom and Jay Lough; and a loving grandfather to Bailey and Sydney Lough.

He was preceded in death by parents Bill and Mary Lough.

Bill retired from Hoffpauir Ford in Lampasas where he was a salesman for 17 years. Bill was also the proud owner of the "Beverage Haul" in Burnet for more than 10 years before moving to Lampasas.
