The Republican Party of Texas included a list of propositions on the 2024 Republican primary ballot. The 13 ballot propositions include questions on eliminating property taxes, border security, benefits to illegal aliens, amnesty, protecting the Texas National Guard, a Texas Bullion Depository, vaccine consent, closed primaries, election integrity, school choice and ownership of Texas land by hostile foreign entities.

The Burnet Consolidated Independent School District board has approved a plan to sell a significant block of property it owns in Burnet, including the Texas A&M University AgriLife Extension at 607 N. Vandeveer.

Burnet CISD announced the appointment of Brian Gilmore as the new director of facilities and operations for the district. Brian has been with BCISD since 2020, starting as bus driver and then a driver trainer.

There is no crime epidemic in Burnet, Burnet Police Chief Brian Lee pointed out. Indeed, according to the FBI National Incident Based Reporting System, the number of violent crimes in Burnet has decreased more than 40% during recent years, from a high of 39 in 2014 to a low of 23 in 2022.
