Make plans to join in the festival fun April 8-10 at the 39th Annual Bluebonnet Festival.

This year, the grand parade makes a return. Entry forms for it and other events are now available online at www.bluebonnetfestival. org or at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce, 101 N. Pierce St.

Tickets are also available for the Saturday night concert with Braedon Barnhill and headliner Reckless Kelly. Capacity is limited, so get your tickets now before they’re gone.

No matter what your interest, there’s something for everyone in the family at the Bluebonnet Festival … pet parade, kid’s activities, corn hole tournament, 5K/10K/Senior 2K/Kids K, wiener dog races, great shopping and live music, just to name a few.

Grand Parade

The Grand Parade returns 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9. First, second, and third place ribbons will be awarded for Walking Group, Best Equine Group, Most Creative Float, Best on Wheels, Best Commercial Entry and Best Overall.

Carnival Tickets Now On Sale

Carnival armband vouchers are now on sale at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce. Armband vouchers are $20 each. They can be purchased for $24 at the carnival Thursday or Sunday sessions and $28 for the Friday and Saturday sessions. The voucher can be used by any person at any one armband session. Sessions are 5-10 p.m. Thursday; 4-11 p.m. and Friday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 5:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday; and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.

5K, 10K and more

Bluebonnet Festival 5K/10K/Seniors 2K takes participants through scenic areas of Burnet as well as through downtown.

The popular, invigorating run caters to both the experienced runner and first-time runners as well. Both the 5K and 10K race are chip-timed. Entry forms are available at the festival website or the YMCA of the Highland Lakes.
