Llano County voters will have two contested local races to cast their vote in for the March Republican Party primary election.
A total of 10 of the 12 local positions are unopposed for the Republican Party nomination. Marquis Cantu is challenging incumbent Bebe Rocha for Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, and a four-way race has emerged for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4.
Four candidates – Bryan Scoggins, William Koch, J.R. Decker and Lisa Simpson – are vying to take his spot as JP Pct. 4.
Early voting for the primary elections runs from Monday, Feb. 14 to Friday, Feb. 25. Llano County has three early voting locations.
• Llano County Library, 102 E. Haynie, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all early voting days;
• Kingsland Public Library, 125 W. Polk, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all early voting days; and
• Horseshoe Bay city office, #1 Community Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all early voting days.
Early voting polls will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21 in observance of Presidents’ Day for all Llano County locations.
Applications for ballot by mail must be mailed to the
Llano County Elections Office, P.O. Box 787, Llano, TX 78643, by close of business on Friday, Feb. 18.
On election day, March 1, polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
• Precinct 101 polling location is the Llano Ag & Health building at 1447 E. Texas 71;
• Precinct 102 location is the Blue Lake Community Center at 214 W. Bluebonnet Drive;
• Precinct 108 location is Sunrise Beach City Hall at 124 Sunrise Drive;
• Precinct 109 location is the Horseshoe Bay city office at #1 Community Drive;
• Precinct 203 location is the East Llano County Annex at 8347 Ranch Road 1431;
• Precinct 204 location is Lakeshore Branch Library at 7346 Ranch Road 261;
• Precinct 205 location is First Baptist Church in Tow, 16521 Ranch Road 2241;
• Precinct 307 location is the Kingsland Public Library at 125 W. Polk; and
• Precinct 410 location is the Llano County Library at 102 E. Haynie.
