Investigators with the Heart of Texas (HOT) Auto Theft Task Force are trying to track down stolen vehicle suspects, after a string of thefts in mid December.

At least five vehicles, trucks and one passenger car, were stolen from US 183 and Hwy 29 in Liberty Hill on Dec 13, 2021.

One truck was recovered that day between Bertram and Burnet, investigators reported.

The Corvette was spotted at 7:45 a.m. westbound on Texas 29.

“Bertram Police attempted to turn around and stop the vehicle for speeding and lost it west of Bertram,” according to a statement by the task force.

“Witnesses called 911 and stated the Corvette turned south on Burnet County Rd 303 which connects to FM 1174 to FM 1431.”

Tips and information were directed to the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

So far, three of the trucks had been recovered, the agency reported.
