Three people filed to run for mayor in the Bertram special election, which was called last month after incumbent Adam Warden resigned because he has moved out of the city limits.

Mike Dickinson, Jean Worrell and Madison Stacy all have filed to succeed Warden, whose unexpired term will not end until May 2022. Interested parties had until 5 p.m. Monday, March 1, to file for election.

The mayoral election will be held concurrently with the regular council election, slated for Saturday, May 1.

Dickinson is an incumbent city council member who also is a local business owner.

Worrell is a current Planning & Zoning Commission member.

Stacy is part of the H-E-B Central Texas store operations leadership team.
