Eddie Joe Terry passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023, after a very short battle with aggressive cancer. Eddie was born in Burnet, Texas on December 26, 1946, to Martin R. Terry and Opal June Walker.
He joined the Army in 1971 and served as a Specialist during his time of service through 1973. He worked as a lineman for Southwestern Bell for many years. He then worked for several construction companies and transitioned to owning his own waterproofing company, servicing the greater Austin area.
Eddie loved the outdoors where he enjoyed bass fishing and deer hunting. Many great memories with friends and family were made during these outings. The outdoors provided a place of peace for him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Walker; father, Martin R Terry and stepmother, Gertie Terry; brother, Harrell Gene Terry; half-sister Gay Nell Terry Gunter; and nephew, John Jacobson.
He is survived by his children, Kim Beck of Cedar Creek, Gene Terry of Austin and Tonya Maldonado and husband, PR Maldonado of Liberty Hill; stepchildren, Jeff Ruthven and family of Austin, and Julie Zachary and family of Cypress; sisters, Jewel Jacobson of Leander, Lynda Garcia and husband, Randy of Austin; stepsister Vickie Ann Wooldridge Whitney of Lampasas; a niece and two nephews. Eddie had seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and all will miss him.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am on March 19, 2023 at the Hoover Valley Chapel, 7650 Park Road 4 W in Burnet, Texas.
