Patricia Eunice Walter

June 30, 1937 — February 26, 2023

Patricia Eunice Walter of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away in her home on February 26, 2023. She was 85 years old. She was loved as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Patricia (Pat) was born in Rolette, North Dakota on June 30, 1937 to Eunice and Almore Christianson. After graduating valedictorian of her high school class of 11 students, Pat began nursing school and then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. During this time, Pat went on a double date with a friend who was dating Jerry Walter. Shortly thereafter, Jerry broke up with Pat’s friend and called to ask Pat out on a date. The rest is history. Pat and Jerry married in August,1957, and enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage before Jerry passed away.

Pat and Jerry lived in numerous locations, eventually buying a resort in Minnesota, where they lived for 14 years and raised their 4 children. During this time, Pat completed nursing school and was employed as a nurse, and Jerry worked as an engineer for 3M. In 1985, Jerry’s job moved them to Austin, Texas, where they lived until Jerry retired and they moved to Joppa, Texas to their home on Windy Hill. Wherever they lived, they enjoyed many friends. They loved to travel, camp, and visit family and friends in Arizona, Minnesota and North Dakota. They especially loved their trip to Alaska with Pat’s sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Rod. They greatly loved attending every event that involved their children and grandchildren, and encouraged all of their endeavors. Days at Inks Lakehouse thrilled Pat and Jerry. After Jerry’s death, Pat continued taking trips with family, and particularly loved her trips to Colorado and Europe with her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her absolute joy. She shared her love for the Lord with them, prayed over them, and greatly hoped they would come to know Jesus as their savior.

In March, 2007, Pat married her second husband, Carroll McCoy, of Lampasas, Texas. They enjoyed many great times with their 208 Dinner Club, and enjoyed sharing life together at the ranch. They were married 13 years before Carroll passed away.

In 2020, Pat moved to Marble Falls to be closer to her children. Even though she lived there for only 3 years, she formed dear friendships with sweet neighbors and precious friends.

Pat always had the most breathtaking flower beds - colorful flowers were her favorite. It brought Pat great joy to host family and friends to watch football. Her favorite hobby was quilting. Pat’s quilts were her love language. She lovingly made quilts for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She also made countless quilt tops for the Linus Program, which provides quilts to traumatized or ill children.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Hartley and Irene Walter; her husbands, Jerry Walter and Carroll McCoy; her two babies who passed at birth; her brothers- in-law, Rock Walter and Rodney Foss; as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra Foss; her son Arro Walter (Ginny); her daughter Margo Lane (Tom); her daughter Greta Cook (boyfriend Jerry); her daughter Laura Martin (Seth); her grandchildren Sam, Olivia, and Lauren Walter, Erin Wyatt (Darron), Ben Lane (Kassidy), Emily Dang (Peter), Elizabeth Lane, Zachary and Jacob Cook, Luke, Isabelle, Benjamin, Jillian, and Lucy Martin; great-grandchildren Kinsley Lane, Emma Lane, Abby Dang, and Noah Dang. Also special to Pat are her brothers-in-law and their wives, Dirk and Dawn Walter, and Noel and Karen Walter, as well as Carmen Walter, many dear nieces and nephews, and several special lifelong friends in both Texas and Minnesota.

Pat’s family and friends will miss her twinkling eyes and generous smile, her humble servant heart, her quick wit, her strong independence, and her contagious love for all of us and for the Lord. Her grandkids will miss the “up close and personal, literally in-yourface” Grandma talks. And we all will miss mak-ing lefse at Grandma’s every Thanksgiving and Christmas since we can remember.
