Summer officially hits Bertram on June 20

Our first day of summer will arrive on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 5:44 p.m. EDT. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this marks the longest day of the year (a little over 14 hours of daylight) and the moment when the sun reaches the Tropic of Cancer, its northernmost point. In contrast the first day of winter this year will be Dec. 21, which will have a little over 10 hours of daylight.

In the Wednesday, June 10 edition of the Burnet Bulletin, a photo of an LCRA donation to the city of Burnet did not have a complete date. The donation occurred on June 4, 2019. We regret the error.
