Tracksters show speed, might on the way to regionals
The Burnet High School track and field program showed plenty of Bulldog fight during the District 23 and 24-4A championship April 9 in Jarrell. Nine Lady Dawgs move on to Area Track Meet
The Lady Dawg track teams traveled to Jarrell on Wednesday and Thursday of last week to compete in the UIL District 24-4A Meet. Teams hosted at the event included Burnet, Salado, Jarrell, Georgetown Gateway, Marble Falls, Lampasas, LH Legacy Ranch and Taylor. 04/09/2025 03:18 AM

Burnet track qualifies pack for Area
Burnet standout distance runner, Victor Aviles, ran his way to three 24-4A gold medals each earning him a spot at Area. He placed first in the 3200, 1600 and 800 meter events. As a team the Bulldogs did well at last week’s district meet. They secured a spot at Area for 13 athletes including both running and field events. Those athletes include Aviles, Matthew Williams, Brody Danson, Braxton Ringstaff, Clay Lamb, Lyndon Harycki, Hector Vega, Isaias Zarate, Cason O’Hair, Josvanny Ramirez, Charles Edwards, Nathan Torres, and David Prather. 04/09/2025 03:18 AM

Dawgs earn series win over Taylor

Softball suffers the one that got away
If you just look at the final score to Friday night’s softball game versus state ranked Gateway you might thing it was more lop-sided than it actually was. Burnet’s girls played a great game through seven innings keeping the Lady Gators scoreless. Baseball suffers district losses to Mustangs
The Bulldog baseball team opened district with a series versus Marble Falls. On Tuesday they traveled to face the Mustangs and fell short after allowing seven runs in the bottom of the second inning. Burnet didn’t post any runs until the top of the sixth and by that time Marble Falls had taken a 9-0 lead. 03/19/2025 02:57 AM

Golfers host 20 annual Colin Clark Invitational
Last week the Burnet golf teams hosted the annual Colin Clark Invitational. This marked the 20 year for the event honoring Colin Clark, a former Bulldog golfer who was tragically killed in an auto accident in 2005. Burnet entered four for the Lady Dawgs, who played on Wednesday, and seven Bulldogs whose rounds were held on Thursday. 03/19/2025 02:57 AM

Burnet High soccer program posts successes
The Burnet Lady Dawg soccer team wrapped up district play last Friday with a road win at Austin LBJ. The victory moved Burnet’s overall record to 20-21, and 17-0-1 in district. They earned their thirdstraight district championship and are looking forward to playing Fredericksburg in the Bi-District round of the state playoffs. 03/19/2025 02:57 AM

Top finishes for Lady Dawg track at host meet
Burnet’s track program hosted the Bulldog Relays on Thursday and both teams did extremely well. The varsity division was won by Salado with 223 points, followed by Burnet, 106.5 in second; West, 99.50 in third; Gateway, 55 in fourth; and China Spring rounded out the top five with 40 points. The Lady Dawg JV team won their division with 198 points, followed by Salado, second, 158; China Spring, third, 65; Marble Falls, fourth, 64; and Gateway, fifth, 11. 03/19/2025 02:57 AM

Lough received prestigious award
If you are at all familiar with the Lady Bulldog basketball program it’s no doubt that you know the name Sydney Lough. The senior standout point guard for the Lady Dawgs has been making a name for herself over the past several years with her mix of aggressive and smooth play on the basketball court. 03/19/2025 02:57 AM

Silver finishes for Bulldog track teams
The Burnet boys track teams hosted their annual meet on Thursday of last week and both squads captured silver as a team. The varsity division was won by Salado, 161, followed by Burnet, second, 144; West, third, 108; Marble Falls, fourth, 71; Gateway, fifth, 66; and China Spring, sixth, 56. 03/19/2025 02:57 AM

Three Lady Dawgs powerlifters lift at State
Last week three Lady Dawg lifters traveled to Edinburg to compete in the 4A Division I State Women’s Powerlifting Championships. Late surge earns baseball big win
The Bulldog baseball team traveled to Llano on Tuesday and earned a dominant win defeating the Yellowjackets, 18-6. Llano struggled on the mound in the top of the first and four straight walks led to the Bulldogs first score as Trey Morrow crossed the plate, 1-0. 03/05/2025 01:39 AM

Good start for Burnet track teams
The Bulldog track teams competed in Marble Falls last Thursday to open their 2025 season. It was a good start for the Dawgs with both the varsity and JV teams performing well. The JV boys outright won their division with 184 team points. The varsity boys placed fourth overall collecting 84 points for their efforts. 03/05/2025 01:39 AM
