Soccer battling more than just opponents
Both the boys and girls soccer programs have been battling a flu outbreak that has left their teams down in numbers over the past few weeks. The girls teams seem to be on the upswing of the outbreak while the boys found themselves still fighting to keep numbers up. 02/12/2025 01:10 AM

Dawgs bounce past Stangs to advance in district
The Bulldog basketball teams hosted Lampasas on Tuesday of last week for second round action and traveled to Marble Falls on Friday. In Tuesday’s match the varsity Badgers entered the gym carrying the best record in the district sitting in the top spot with a 10-1 24-4A mark and are 24-8 on the season. 02/12/2025 01:10 AM

Bright week improves soccer standings
It was a great week on the soccer fields for Burnet’s teams. When it was all said and done the Lady Dawgs had taken over as the leader in District 25-4A after beating Jarrell on Tuesday and previously unbeaten in district play Gateway on Friday. 02/05/2025 03:56 AM

Lady Dawgs returning to the playoffs
The Lady Bulldog basketball teams had two games last week, the first a home game versus Taylor and the second a game on the road at Jarrell. Both extremely important games for the varsity ladies as the second round of district draws to a close. Burnet’s varsity earned the win over Taylor but unfortunately fell short in Jarrell on Friday. The loss to the Lady Cougars kept Burnet from owning an outright district championship. With last night’s games pending Jarrell was in the top spot at 8-1, followed by Burnet at 7-2 with one loss to Jarrell and one loss to Salado. 02/05/2025 03:56 AM

Dawgs powerlifting team earns gold at Llano lift
The Bulldog powerlifting team traveled to Llano last Thursday to participate in their third lift of the season. The boys’ team put together a top effort that earned three individual gold medals, four individual silver medals, and two individual bronze medals. 02/05/2025 03:56 AM

Record setting week for Burnet soccer
The Burnet soccer teams have seen much success in the early goings of district competition. After a Tuesday weather delay pushed the Bulldogs game versus Florence to Wednesday the varsity Dawgs made a statement with a big 12-2 victory. 01/29/2025 03:46 AM

Lifters compete at Badger Invite
On Thursday the Burnet Bulldog and Lady Dawg powerlifting teams traveled North to participate in the Lampasas Badgers Invite. Burnet’s teams did well picking up some gold medals and good team finishes along the way. 01/29/2025 03:46 AM

Lady Dawgs lead District 24-4A
It was another great week to be a Lady Dawg as Burnet varsity Lady Bulldog team picked up two more wins and are the current front runners in District 24-4A with a 6-1 record. Water Dawgs sensational at district races
Burnet’s swim team took to the pool in Belton on Friday for their district meet and were impressive with numerous swims resulting in tickets to regionals. Every swimmer wearing Burnet gear extended their season with top finishes at district. 01/29/2025 03:46 AM

Dawgs earn flashy comeback win in Salado
The Bulldog basketball team’s games were delayed a bit due to weather last week with Tuesday’s sub-varsity games being cancelled and the varsity’s game versus Gateway being moved to Wednesday. Icy road conditions were to blame for the week’s delayed start. 01/29/2025 03:46 AM

Soccer to compete in large 25-4A district
Burnet’s soccer teams recently wrapped up pre-district play in the shortest amount of time in the program’s history due to a fully loaded District 25-4A. Nine other teams share the district with Burnet including Austin Achieve, Austin Eastside, Austin Johnson, Austin Northeast, Austin Travis, Georgetown Gateway, Jarrell, Lago Vista, and Florence. Both Burnet’s girls and boys opened district on Tuesday with the Lady Dawgs at home versus Travis while the boys traveled to Austin to face the Rebels. 01/15/2025 03:31 AM

Dawgs add two big district wins
It was a great week for the varsity Bulldog basketball team who earned two big district wins which greatly improved their standings. The Bulldogs opened play with a Tuesday night home victory over Salado and backed that up with a win over the Taylor Ducks on Friday on the road. 01/15/2025 03:31 AM

Varsity Lady Dawgs split week in district
The varsity Lady Dawg basketball team had a split week in district play dropping their Tuesday match to Salado before picking up a Friday win in Taylor. Following those two games the Lady Dawgs held a 2-1 record in the district and were sitting in a second place tie with Lampasas who was also 2-1. Bulldogs basketball earns district win over Jarrell
The boys’ basketball program competed in three district games during the Christmas break playing Marble Falls, Jarrell and Gateway most recently last Friday. As of presstime Burnet’s varsity was 1-3 having dropped games to Marble Falls, 4131; and Gateway, 51-37. Their district win came last Tuesday over Jarrell, 42-36. They continued 24-4A play versus Salado yesterday and will travel to Taylor on Friday. 01/08/2025 03:22 AM

Academic All-State awards honoring student athletes in the 2024 Bulldog Football program were recently released and Burnet earned 11 spots on the list. Soccer making strides with scrimmages
The soccer teams have been busy over the past few days with numerous scrimmages to help fine tune their skills. Both the boys and girls scrimmaged Lampasas with those games having a dual impact. In addition to getting time on the field versus an opponent the games hosted a toy drive for the second year in a row. Burnet’s teams won the toy drives and on the boys side alone the Bulldogs collected over 200 toys and books to be donated. 12/25/2024 03:00 AM
