The YMCA of Central Texas is partnering with Burnet Consolidated ISD, offering families affordable ways to participate in after-school programs at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes. The YMCA of Central Texas financial assistance program allows parents to apply for financial support for YMCA after-school services. All applicants for financial assistance will remain confidential and anonymous.

The mission of the YMCA of the Highland Lakes is assisting children and families in the community to reach their full potential in spirit, mind and body regardless of their financial situation. If a family cannot afford to participate in Y programs and services, the YMCA of the Highland Lakes and the YMCA of Central Texas are in a position to offer financial assistance to those who apply and qualify.

“Our goal is to be a resource for residents of Burnet County and offer everyone the programs and services of the YMCA of the Highland Lakes,” said Theresa Cirigliano, Vice President of Financial Development, YMCA of Central Texas. “Through the generosity of dedicated supporters and donors, we have the ability to provide financial assistance to Central Texas families who want and need YMCA after-school programs, but cannot afford them.”

Burnet CISD school counselors at RJ Richey Elementary, Shady Grove Elementary, and Bertram Elementary will inform families about the opportunity to apply for scholarships to the YMCA of Central Texas. The priority of the outreach is educating parents of affordable ways Burnet CISD students can participate in after-school programs at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes. Y programs in Burnet include swim lessons, youth sports, gymnastics, child care, yoga, cardio, and strength training.

“We want Burnet County parents to know that the YMCA of the Highland Lakes is doing our part to make our services financially available to those in need,” said Gary Grumoli, Executive Director, YMCA of Highland Lakes. “Our Financial Assistance Program can provide solutions and dispel the doubts of any family who thinks they cannot afford to join the YMCA.”

The YMCA of Central Texas is committed to creating financial assistance opportunities for community members who can benefit from YMCA after-school programs and services, but cannot afford to participate.
