Congratulations to Burnet Police Department Officer Dalton Buchhorn for his recognition as the Wallace Riddell Police Officer of the Year. Well deserved!

The award was announced during the recent at Burnet Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.

Dispatch Transition

The transition to the new police dispatch system is going well. Thanks to everyone working on the project.

Big congratulations to Burnet Police Officer Rhett Levingston for his selection as the K-9 unit second officer. After he completes training this summer, Levingston will begin his new role.

Airport Hangar

The pre-construction meeting was held March 1 for the new 12,000 square foot Burnet Municipal Airport hangar.

Work is expected to begin on April 15.

New City Hall

The committee supervising construction of the new Burnet City Hall meets next week to discuss engineering options. Construction of the building is expected to begin after the Bluebonnet Festival ends next month.

Upcoming Meetings

Upcoming meetings include; 6 p.m. March 4, the Planning and Zoning Commission and 6 p.m. March 12 and March 26, the Burnet City Council.

All the meetings are scheduled to convene in Burnet at the Municipal Airport, 2302 S. Water St. meeting room, temporarily serving as the city council chamber.
