The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshal’s Service continue to look for a man accused of sexually assaulting a former relative for nearly four years while she was a minor.

Tracey Dale Lewis, 52, was indicted by a Burnet County grand jury in 2017 on 15 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony, and a single count of indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony.

According to the indictment, which was filed Dec. 5, 2017 in the 424th District Court, the victim, then 24 years old, reported to police she had been sexually abused by Lewis beginning when she was just nine years old.

The molestation started in May 2002 with Lewis grabbing the child’s breast, but progressed just two days later to him performing oral sex on her. In July 2002, he began forcing the nine-year-old female to have sexual intercourse with him, according to the indictment.

The abuse continued through at least May 2006 and up until the suspect was divorced from a family member of the victim.

The victim came forward to Burnet police about the abuse at the age of 24 and a warrant was issued for Lewis’ arrest in September 2017 with bond set at $250,000.

He was scheduled to have an arraignment hearing in January 2018, but became a fugitive from justice and has not appeared in court to stand trial. The Burnet County District Attorney’s office reached out to the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshal’s Service for help in locating and apprehending Lewis.

Lewis formerly lived in the 100 block of Whitetail in Burnet, but also has been tied to addresses in San Antonio, Gulfport, Mississippi and Long Island, New York. He is described as being 5-foot-10, weighing 160 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Lewis’ whereabouts is encouraged to submit their tips online to usmarshals.gov/ tips or through the USMS Tips app available through the Apple Store or Google Play.
