Burnet Consolidated ISD officials announced last week in an email to local businesses they will not be hosting the annual back-to-school breakfast for district employees this August “given the COVID-19 situation and the existing guidance to school districts requiring social distancing.”
“We are making plans to celebrate the new school year with our staff, but we know it will look different than in the past,” district officials wrote. “We hope to be able to resume our back-to-school breakfast in August 2021, and we hope that you will be able to join us then.”
Each year, the district hosts a breakfast for employees featuring food, giveaways, goodies and door prizes with sponsorship from local businesses. District officials said to demonstrate their appreciation “for the years of sponsorship many of you have shown, the district will be sharing with staff at the beginning of the year a list of our past sponsors, and encouraging staff to shop local. We know the last few months have been difficult for everyone.”
