November 6, 1938 — June 7, 2023

Donald Fawcett, 84, of Burnet Texas passed away on June 7, 2023.

Donald was born November 6, 1938, in San Antonio. He moved to Burnet in 1945 where he was raised by his grandparents J.A. & Addie Wallace. Donald played football in high school, but he enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing the most.

Donald met Bonnie Miller, the love of his life, when they were in the 8th grade in 1952. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956 before transitioning to the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1957. Donald served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve until 1962 before being honorably discharged.

Donald and Bonnie married in August 1957 and started raising their children - Melissa, Don and Janet. He worked for Superior Dairies for 27 years delivering milk to local businesses and the Burnet schools. Donald delivered milk to Camp Longhorn for 58 years. This was his favorite job and he could not wait to turn onto Fawcett Drive each summer to make his deliveries to the camp. Donald worked for Burnet CISD from 1990 until his retirement in 2012. Not a day went by that kids were not lined up after school to get their “free” chocolate milk that Donald graciously provided to them at his own expense. Donald was an advocate to so many children in the Burnet community for years.

Donald was not only a servant of children. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Burnet for over 70 years where he was a faithful servant of The Lord. Donald was also a member of both the Burnet and Lake Victor Masonic Lodges for over 50 years. Through his years of service to our community, Donald received numerous awards for his outstanding contributions to those in need.

Donald is survived by his wife Bonnie Fawcett and his children Melissa Gonzales (Danny), Donald Fawcett, Jr. (Bobbie), Janet Parker (Chris), 6 grandchildren - Crystal, Amanda, Carmen, Trey, Justin & Claire, and 6 great grandchildren - Delaney, Rory, Layla, Addy, Mayve & Ridge.

Visitation will be held on June 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Burnet followed by the service at 3:00 pm. The burial services will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family requests donations be made to Hill Country Community Foundation in lieu of flowers.
