November 10, 1960 — April 8, 2024
Elizabeth “Liz” Covey, beloved mother and grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend, departed from this world on April 8, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born to Walker and Janice Schilling on November 10, 1960.
Liz brought warmth and joy into the lives of all who knew her. In her journey through life, Elizabeth was a beacon of generosity and compas-sion. Her nurturing spirit was evident in the love she shared with her children: Mary and Jeremy Slatton of Brady, Lora Rhae and Greg Smith of Brady, Misty and Daryl Stew-art of Christoval, and Walker and Nekita Covey of Brady. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire those she held dear.
Her true passion in life was the love she had for her grandchildren that she always called “Mimi’s Angels”, and the special bonds she shared with each of them. Ciara, Callum, Peyton, Levi, Liam, Mackenzie, Season, Joseph, Christopher, and McKenna were blessed to have her as their Mimi, and they will forever cherish the memories they created together.
Liz is reunited in eternity with her parents, Janice and Walker, who preceded her in death.
Liz is survived by her sister, Martha Bennight, of Kerrville and brother, Martin Schilling, of Brady. Rest in peace, dear Liz. Your light will continue to shine brightly through the memories you created and the lives you touched.
Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
