Lena Marie Cox Munn, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023 at The Oaks Nursing Center in Burnet, TX with her husband and children by her side.

Marie was born on August 23, 1920, in Oatmeal, TX to Jessie Cox and Beluah Tucker Cox. She was the 2nd of 5 children born to this union.

She graduated from Bertram High School in 1948. She then moved to Austin where she attended Durham’s Business School. On November 24, 1949, she married Mac Quentin Munn. She was a secretary for an insurance agency company until the birth of their first child.

She was a loving and caring mom and showed it by being involved with her children’s school activities such as homeroom mother, Girl Scout leader, den mother and band mom.

Mac and Marie bought their first camper in 1965 and joined the Texas Starcraft Camper Club of which she was president for 30 plus years. They enjoyed travelling for 50 plus years with the club and attended many national club rallies. They traveled in all the Canadian provinces and all the states except Hawaii.

After 70 years of living in Austin they moved to Burnet to be closer to their children.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and his wife George “Sox” Cox, his first wife Barbara and second wife Colleen.

Marie is survived by her husband, Mac, of 73 1/2 years, her daughter and husband, Brenda and Wayne Price of Bertram, and son and wife Ronald and Jan Munn of Spicewood. Grandchildren Tamara (Dean) Schoonmaker of Cedar Creek, Melissa (Fred) White of Bryan, Megan (Randy) Fitzpatrick of Columbia, SC and Quentin Charles Munn of Bakersfield, CA. Great grandchildren James Schoonmaker of Katy, Daithen (Taylor) Schoonmaker of Cedar Creek, Jayden Schoonmaker of Cedar Creek, and Jackson Monroe and Lawsyn Fitzpatrick of Columbia, SC and a great great grandson Bentley Schoonmaker of Cedar Creek.

She is also survived by her brothers Truman (Belva) Cox of Liberty Hill, Gene (Linda) Cox of Liberty HIll and Don (Linda) Cox of Lampasas. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cous-ins and friends.

Funeral services were held May 20, 2023, at the Bertram Church of Christ. Visitation was at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. with burial at the Shady Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were J.T. Cox, Roy Cox, Quentin Charles Munn, Scott Munn, James Schoonmaker, Daithen Schoonmaker, Jayden Schoonmaker and Tommy Thompson.

We will miss your hugs, smile, laugh and even your advice, but you will be in our hearts. We love you.
