Raymond Ricketson Haile of Granite Shoals, TX formerly of Burnet, TX passed away peacefully in his home with his daughters Linda and Janice and numerous grandchildren and loved ones by his side.

Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home with burial to be a Burnet City Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5 at the funeral home.

Ray was a very simpleminded man who didn’t want to burden anyone with his problems, no matter how simple they may have been.

Ray graduated from Burnet High School in 1959. He worked at the factory on the Colorado River in Marble Falls. He also worked throughout his life at Huber, Frank Smith Trucking where he not only drove trucks, but he fixed the trucks as well.

He was a well-respected and sought after diesel mechanic. In the later years he was selfemployed. Over the years His family has heard it said by his friends that if they only knew a small portion of things that he had probably forgotten, they would be very educated people.

Ray loved to fish and hunt, which he passed on to his grandson along with some of his mechanical skills. He was a man of few words, so when he did speak, everyone listened. Ray was the best provider for his family and is leaving behind big shoes to fill. His children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends will miss him dearly. As was mentioned he was a very simple man who loved his family and friends unconditionally.

He is preceded in death by his wife JoBell Haile; his parents, Raymond and Olga Haile and stepson, Danny Moon as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Linda & husband Bill Smith and their children, Billie & wife Jenah Smith, Sarah Smith & husband Michael Arellano, and three great grandchildren, all of Marble Falls, Texas.

He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Janice and husband Calvin Wilkes of Cottonwood Shores, Peggy Moon of Granite Shoals, stepson, Kenneth & wife Diedra Moon of Madisonville; daughter in law, Pam Moon of Kingsland as well as grandchildren Jessica & husband Brandon Smith, Kristina Wilkes & boyfriend Matthew, Stacey Wilkes, Jacey Moffett, Gracie Moffett, Meagan & husband Jesse Pearce, Amanda Moon ,Emily Moon, Dustin Osteen and 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.

Even though he is no longer in pain, he will be greatly missed and thought of often.
