February 5, 1961 — April 11, 2024 

Ruben Bernal passed away in the comfort and peace of his home in Bertram on April 11, 2024. He was born in Burnet, Texas to Maggie Aleman.

Ruben was married to Maggie Bernal for almost 29 years. He graduated from Burnet High School in 1980 and was active in sports throughout his high school years and was voted Best-All-Around. He continued with sports in his spare time like co-ed volleyball, men’s softball, and flag football.

He was employed with Hoover Construction for over 20+ years and was dedicated to his job and the crew he oversaw. Ruben would give his shirt off his back to help others and never met a stranger.

He enjoyed playing golf, watching his Cowboys and Longhorns on TV. He also went to support all the Bulldog games until he couldn’t anymore. Ruben enjoyed watching his grandson, Ryder play baseball and enjoyed the time he had with his grandson, Colt.

Ruben is preceded in death by his mother Maggie; grandmother, Maria and numerous Aunts and Uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie Bernal, his father, JesseAleman and his six children, Tori (Steven) Solis, Bernie Bernal, R.J. Bernal, Ash-ley (Cory) Birchfield, Nicolas Bernal, Angelina Bernal and his brothers Joel, Larry, Roger and his sister Mary.

Ruben had 12 grandchildren, Trey, JT, Mannie, Xavier, Makynzi, Mia, Aliviya, Adrianna, Ryder, Aysiah, Lorena and Colt.

Ruben was also an Uncle to many nephews and nieces.

Visitation for Ruben will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Burnet on Tuesday April 16th from 6-7pm, with the rosary beginning at 7:00pm.

Funeral services will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Burnet on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at 2:00pm with the burial to follow at Strickling Cemetery.
